TempDot® Minus Descending Temperature Label, Model 51041

TempDot® Minus are single-use, irreversible temperature indicator labels for detecting descending temperature. They are intended for use in refrigerated environments to make “go” or “no go” decisions for acceptance or consumption of products that cannot be frozen or exposed to lower temperatures, such as certain foods, vaccines, drugs, blood products, implants, diagnostic substances, ophthalmic solutions, intraocular lenses and chemicals. TempDot Minus helps to detect cold chain violations by providing visual pass/fail information if a breach occurs below their threshold temperature. For traceability purposes, each label has a serial number which can be associated to a customer order number, product code, or bill of lading.

Unactivated TempDot® Minus labels do not require special handling. They can be stored at room temperature and shipped without heat packs. Activation is done by pressure using a finger-push, with the label in an environment above 2°C/36°F. The small indicator window at the bottom of the label turns red to indicate successful activation. Apply the TempDot Minus to pre-cooled products, packages, or cartons in a refrigerated environment, ideally between 2°C and 8°C/36°F to 46°F. When the label is exposed to temperature below its threshold, the large white window turns red within 30 minutes or less, providing a visual pass/fail indication of the excursion event.

TempDot® Minus irreversible temperature indicator labels are also used on the DeltaTrak TempDot Vaccine Monitor Card, for tracking vaccine temperature during transport and handling throughout the supply chain. More information on the Vaccine Monitor Card
